Apple has launched a new update for millions of AirPods, introducing the “Siri Interactions“ feature, which allows users to control their iPhones through simple head movements. For example, you can reject incoming calls by shaking your head from side to side.
Announced earlier this year, this feature is now available for AirPods Pro users, offering a more personal and convenient way to interact with Siri while on the go. Users can respond to or dismiss Siri messages by gently nodding their heads, making it particularly useful in noisy environments or when speaking out loud isn’t practical. Additionally, it allows users to manage notifications and interact with messages without needing to talk.
However, there are some limitations. Siri Interactions is not compatible with second-generation AirPods and requires pairing with an iPhone running iOS 18. Users will also need to ensure that their AirPods have received the latest update for this feature to work.
Along with the Siri Interactions feature, Apple has improved noise isolation on the AirPods Pro (2nd generation), enhancing voice clarity by reducing background noise. This update also introduces a new hearing health experience for AirPods Pro 2, which uses advanced technology to help users monitor and protect their hearing over time.
